Glencoe is an area steeped in History and there is much to be discovered at the Local Museum in the village and at the National Trust Visitor Centre in the Pass of Glencoe.
WALKING
Fabulous walking straight form the cottage and immediate area including the West Highland Way, Devils Staircase, Buchaille Etiv Mor, Rannoch Mor, Ben Nevis and the Mamores ... The list goes on. Beautiful places featured in BBC's "Secret Britain" can be visited from the cottage.
Mountain Biking /Cycling
Fantasic area for cycling and Mountain Biking. For easy cycling with stunning coastal views try the newly constructed cycle path straight from the cottage Glencoe-Ballahulish to Oban Sustrans Cycle Route. This follows the coastline, much of it along a tarmac surface disused railway line. For the more adventurous mountain bikers are many routes locally, the Glencoe Mountain Resort is developing some challenging tracks and there is a fantastic choice of different grades of trails at the Nevis Centre Fort William including the world famous UCI Mountian World Bike Cup Tracks. Bike hire is available locally in several places the nearest being "CrankItUp Gear" in Glencoe village.
SEGWAY. The local golf course at Ballachulish Dragons Tooth Golf Course now has a SEGWAY track, great fun!
Glencoe Skiing Centre and chairlift (open
all year round) is 10-15 mins drive.

DISCOVER THE WESTERN ISLES. Trips to the islands, Skye, Mull, Iona, Staffa,.... can all be reached on day trips from the cottage. Oban with its many Ferry routes is only a 40 min drive away. You can drive to the stunning and remote Ardnamurchan Penninsula with Britains most Westerly mainland point via the Corran ferry, just a few mins from the cottage.
